My website will be unavailable until next weekend(15 June)
Reason : I'm moving my domain over to google apps while revamping the entire site.
Unfortunately email [ at lohangunaweera dot tk ] also might stop working during the transitional period :-( Please email me to my yahoo address instead or leave a comment here if anyone needs to contact me before everything is back to normal.

This may look like a Victorian music box, but inside this intricately hand-crafted wooden case lives a Hewlett-Packard ZT1000 laptop that runs both Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux. It features an elaborate display of clockworks under glass, engraved brass accents, claw feet, an antiqued copper keyboard and mouse, leather wrist pads, and customized wireless network card. The machine turns on with an antique clock-winding key by way of a custom-built ratcheting switch made from old clock parts.

I've been away too long(once again!) It started because my computer monitor was "burned" in a power over-load. I got a new monitor few days ago but it doesn't look right at the moment. The brightness and colors aren't working right. It's too reddish! My eyes hurt: I spent the whole day yesterday trying to figure out how to control this. Maybe there's something wrong with this one and I need to take it back to the store. I'll be posting again as soon as I get this thing fixed.
Yes, once again, a power failure. This one was almost 18 hours long. Pardon me for writing about power failures all the time. That's almost an inseparable part of my life ;-) Sometimes I wonder that I might not be able to come to terms with it when/if they fix it for good. Long live power failures ;-)
Anyways, I couldn't complete the painting yet. It belongs to the same old series with faces. Smaller than the previous one. And also my color palette has gotten dull and less vibrant.

Four-and-a-half years after the invasion of Iraq, the US government is laying the foundation for another bloody war, now against Iran. The basic pretexts for further military action in the oil-rich Middle East have already been worked out.

On April 13th, 2029, it will pass to within 5 Earth diameters of us. The exact path the asteroid follows on its flyby in 2029 will determine whether it smashes into the Earth seven years later.
While the White House still claims to be seeking a diplomatic solution to the current confrontation, a series of media articles have noted Washingtonâ™s increasingly bellicose rhetoric and warned that the US appears to have decided on military action.
